With gender inclusion under political scrutiny, it’s more important than ever to create spaces where young people feel affirmed. This interactive workshop supports caregivers, educators and those who work with young people in creating gender inclusive practices and spaces that allow children to develop their own sense of who they are. We will explore how gender norms are shaped, the latest research on biological sex differences vs environmental learning, and practical ways to support gender identity development in children—despite restrictive policies.

This workshop is open to caregivers, educators, and anyone who is interested in creating spaces that honor a broad spectrum of human presentations and experiences. We’ll provide free childcare if that’s helpful, and will be located in an easily-accessible space near public bus lines. Please consult our sliding scale registration options - there is no fee required to participate, but we have a suggested donation of $30 to help support the operational costs of the QJC. If paying more than that feels easy for you, your contribution will also help support the participation of community members for whom that amount would be restrictively expensive.
As with all QJC events, masking is strongly encouraged to provide an accessible space for all community members.
