  • Queer Joy Chorus

Come sing with your heart in a room full of brilliant, kind people - what could be better? Catch our performances this spring and see for yourself.

Our next open rehearsal for adults and kids will be in August, but we’ll be performing all over western MA this spring.

Registration for the Fall 2026 semester will open in July with many financially accessible options.

  • Rhythm + Radiance Kids Chorus

This is a space for building community, finding joy in singing, and accepting all people. We’ll chose our music together, centering music that kids love to sing. We’ll learn about music-making together as well in a supportive, fun environment.

In the Fall, we’re planning to change our format to offer an hour for younger singers and an hour for older singers.

Registration for the Fall 2026 semester will open in July with many financially accessible options.

Check out our June 20, 2026 performance to see what we’re all about!

  • Chorus for a Day!

Ever wondered what it feels like to sing in a real chorus? Bring the whole family and find out! Mara Levi, director of Queer Joy Chorus, will teach kids and grown-ups several songs — in parts — and by the end of the afternoon you'll be making harmony — and friends — with a room full of strangers. Kids get their own fun along the way, but everyone comes together for the big sing. No experience, no audition, just voices and joy.

We’ll be in Groton MA on July 12, and Northampton, MA on August 1!

All QJC events are sliding-scale, meaning you pay what you can. If you can pay $10 per person for the experience, that will help us cover our costs. If you can pay $20 or $30 per person that will help allow others to join without paying at all. If you’re someone who isn’t in a position to pay for this experience, you are still WELCOME - please register so we have your name and any important details, but you don’t need to pay if you can’t.

Joy is Community.
Come be yourself with us.

Dedicated to Queer Joy

  • Who we are

The Queer Joy Collaborative is about creating spaces for connection through joy. We began as a chorus, and continue to center music as a means of building community, but we’re turning it into so much more. We dreamed of growing our chorus and other programming to foster and support queer joy through arts and mutual aid.

  • What we've started

The Queer Joy Collaborative was founded in June of 2024 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission of promoting queer joy through the healing power of the arts and mutual aid. We are constantly adding programming and staff to serve the needs of our growing community. We see Queer Joy as an act of necessary resistance and we invite you to resist with us.

  • Programs

The Collaborative launched with the Queer Joy Chorus in September 2024. In January of 2025, we added the Rhythm & Radiance Kids Chorus, and the Sending Joy Postcard program. In Fall, 2025 we also added ROAR to the list of programs we’re delighted to lift up.

Our core values also include paying staff a living wage, and offering programs that are accessible to people of all abilities.

  • You're IN!

Queer Joy Collaborative is built by and for the queer community and our allies. Please help us by sharing our programming, events, and website with your communities. Your engagement with our content helps us grow, and hopefully brings you a little joy along the way!
