Heidi | Events Committee Lead | Board Member
Queer Joy Collaborative, previously known as the Pride Chorus, has been Heidi’s Monday blues buster for four years now. The unique humorous queers and fabulously arranged music drew her in and the welcoming community and joyous powerful collective voices keeps her here. In joining the board, Heidi hopes to bring her skills as a conscientious communicator, thorough organizer, perceptive teacher and committed motivator. To do this, she will draw from her diverse experiences as a therapist, volunteer coordinator, special education teacher, and SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) facilitator to foster the growth of the Queer Joy Collaborative. A few of her passions for QJC include: - Using music, art and activism to stand united against hate and build joyful dependable connections. - Creating spaces for children and families to find acceptance, reliable support and opportunities for sharing and learning. -Finding other queer centric organizations and communities to collaborate with in building networks and systems that honor and support queer people and all marginalized people. Beyond serving on the QJC board, Heidi loves being the mama of two littles, creating portraits of extraordinary people for her classroom, adventuring near an ocean or mountain, playing games, baking goodies and drinking coffee.
